The Wildcats take on LA Pierce Saturday at West

West LA looks to get back to .500 at LA Pierce comes to Culver City.
West fell to Citrus, 52-13 in the season opener played at West LA. Citrus scored
twice in the 1st quarter, courtesy of Austin Zavala's runs of 3 and 1 yard out.
Sophomore quarterback, Markell White scampered in from 16 yards to bring the
Wildcats to within 7.

The Owls of Citrus then took over the game in the second quarter, building their lead to
24-7. Citrus would go on to build their lead to 52-7, as Zavala scored his 3rd and 4th touchdowns of the day.
West did end the scoring with :27 seconds remaining, when White hit Jordan King for the 10 yard touchdown.
Both White and Zavala threw for 127 yards. White was a one man show, leading the Cats in rushing with 38 yards on 12 carries. Jordan King led West LA with 6 catches for 41 yards, including his fourth quarter score.
Christian Williams and Drevon Macon, had 4 and 2 receptions respectively.

Citrus made it difficult for the West defense converting on 9 of 14, 3rd down conversions; including a game
high 32 first downs. Defensively, Donovan Weicks led West with 6 solo tackles and 2 assist. Justin Mason (4/4), Steven Ashby (2/6) and Trevor Kigoonya (3/5) provided grit and consistency for the Wildcats.

Pierce College opened the 2018 season at home with a loss to Mt. San Jacinto, 53-35.
Jonathan Saavedra and Kwon Peterson shared the majority of the snaps under center, with both signal
callers putting the ball in the air 22 times. David Kates carried the ball 8 times for the Brahmas gaining 35 yards.
West LA looks to challenge a defense that gave up 13 points or more in all 4 quarters last Saturday.
