Men’s XC Place 4th, Women 10th in WSC Preview Meet

San Luis Obispo, CA.|With the October 19^th Western State conference men's and women's cross country championships looming, teams descended on the Fairbanks Cross Country Course to get a glimpse of the competition and view next year's championship course hosted by Cuesta College.

The Wildcats cross country teams had solid performances by both the men's and women's teams with 4^th and 10^th place team finishes in what is the largest cross country conference in the United States with 15 schools.  The Wildcats were led by sophomore Baltazar Bucup who finished in 6^th place.  Armando Lozano and Raul Lopez placed 15^th and 22^nd in challenging 4-mile course. West LA's women's squad was led by freshman Maya Richardson who ran to a 13^th place finish in 21:11 for the 5k distance. 

WSC teams will run in various meets the next 2 weeks leading up to the Western State Championships at Bonelli Park in San Dimas in 3 weeks to determine conference champions.  The Wildcats compete at Moorpark College next Friday.
