The West LA Women's Basketball team came in to Saturday's contest against LA Valley with high expectations, after a road win Wednesday night. For 3 quarters,those expectations were met. The Monarch's led the game 26-20 at the half. By the time the 3rd quarter started, Valley's lead was only38-35. However, WEST would go cold in the 4th shooting just 4 for 20 (20%). With 5:16 remaining in the game, Justice Walters' layup made it 42-39, Valley. West LA would find themselves down nine points with :58 seconds left in the game. WEST would foul then Valley, who went 8 for 8 in the last minute from the line. Tricia Delph led WEST with 17 points and 8 rebounds. The sophomore from Fairfax High also went 7-9 from the line to go along with 8 rebounds. Kayla Wilder added nine with 4 rebounds. The Wildcats travel to Bakersfield Wednesday night. Game time is 5 pm. |
