Marisa Nath has been selected by the West Los Angeles College Athletic Department, as our female Scholar Athlete for the month of October 2018. Marisa graduated from West Adams Preparatory High in 2016. Marisa is a member of the West LA Volleyball Team. She is majoring in Sociology and is looking to transfer to UCLA to further her neuroscience passion. |
| While competing for West LA she was a defensive specialist on the Volleyball team. Marisa states that Gandhi has always been her greatest inspiration and largest influence through her young adulthood. One Gandhi quote that she has always been influenced by is “strength does not come from winning; your struggles develop your strengths. And when you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.” |
Her advice to other West LA Student-Athletes is, “organization, discipline, and devotion is the key to attain a great work ethic in anything you do. Something I’ve learned here at West LA is that isolation can be what introduces you to yourself, and what allows you to gain control over yourself.” |
