Markell White has been selected by the West Los Angeles College Athletic Department, as our male Scholar Athlete for the month of November 2018. Markell graduated from Fairfax High School in 2017. |
| He is a member of the West LA Football Team. Markell received the Student-Athlete Player of the Week and Month for the Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper. He also earned 1st Team Honors for the 2018-2019 Football Season. Markell is a Fire Technology major who plans to transfer with an athletic scholarship. He has worked, as a cadet at a fire station, so picking a major that related to his interest was vital for him. He has a 3.6 GPA, and is a member of the West LA Gold Team. |
| God has definitely played the main role in his success and accomplishments. His mother has been his biggest influence in his life. She is a single mother who works day in and day out, yet makes it look easy. She has never missed a game in Markell’s career. He states that his mother is hands down the strongest woman he has ever met, and makes him want to become a better man each day! His advice to other West LA Student-Athletes is, “ball out, and make every moment count!” |
