SANTA ANA – The West Los Angeles College women's soccer team bounced back from a 2-1 loss in its season opener on Tuesday to record a shutout in a 0-0 tie at Santa Ana College on Friday.

Neither team could capitalize on their limited scoring chances in the contest. West LA outshot Santa Ana 7-2 for the game but couldn't find the back of the net. Forward Kennedy Gaston fired off 4 shots to lead West LA.

Goalkeeper Jenna Sosa needed to make just one save in recording the Wildcats first shutout of the season.

West LA, now 0-1-1 overall, is back in action on Tuesday (Sep. 3) when the Wildcats host Victor Valley College in a 2 p.m. non-conference game.
