The 2022 West Los Angeles College track and field season came to a close with the women's team placing seventh and the men's squad finishing 15th at the CCCAA State Championships at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut on May 20-21.

The West LA women totaled 30 points thanks to six top-10 individual finishes while the men scored 13 points with three placing among the state's top six.

Kyndahl Carter led the way with her second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. She clocked in at 14.56. The 4x100-meter relay team of Carter, Olivia McIntosh-Adams, Jada Turner, and Hailey Adams also captured second place, finishing the competition with a time of 47.65.

Turner added a third-place finish in the 800 (2:18.76) while Adams in the 100 (11.99) and Angel Morris in the heptathlon (3944 pts.) both took fifth in their respective events. In her third event of the meet, Adams was 10^th in the long jump (17-0 ½).

On the men's side, Jordon Smith was the Wildcats' top finisher as he took third in the 400 with his time of 48.48. Smith also ran with Alex Sweeney, Matthew Williams, and Kyaire Orihu as a part of the 4x100 relay team that took fifth place at 41.33.

Sweeney closed it out for the men, running 14.60 in the 110 hurdles to take sixth.
